TIME IS UP!
The world is facing unprecedented challenges—time is running out. The 2020 pandemic was a stark reminder of how fragile our global systems are. It was a stress test, and the results were clear: we were not prepared. This crisis, like others before and after it, showed our lack of readiness to address global issues, from pandemics to the ongoing degradation of our planet. Despite this wake-up call, we still lack the collective will and resources to implement the global initiatives needed to prevent further damage.
The time to act is now.
Education Can’t Wait. Act Now
The preparation for a resilient, sustainable future must start at school. The challenges our children will face in the future are unlike anything we’ve seen before. The world of work and life will look dramatically different in the coming decades. The question is, are we preparing them for it?
Parents choose the best schools, that they can afford, for their children. They understand that a solid education is an investment in the future. Unfortunately, today’s education system is still lagging the needed change. It is still largely focused on mass delivery of knowledge, solving linear problems, and preparing students for jobs that may change in the coming years.
We need to foster Deep learning, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Problem Solving and Creativity. These skills are essential for the 21st century. This is why time is up on education as we knew it. We need to rethink and enhance our education systems to meet the demands of the future.
The Time to Act for Our Planet Is Now
Our planet is at a crossroads. The environmental challenges we face are growing by the day. To truly create positive change, we must reconnect with nature and embrace a more responsible, circular way of living. The current Linear Consumption model—Make, Use, Waste—has brought us to the brink. We must transition to new modalities like Circular Economies: Make, Use, Re-use, Repurpose. This is the way forward.
Circularity isn’t a new concept; it’s about reviving our grandparents’ practices and applying modern technologies to minimize waste, extend the life of resources, and ensure that nothing goes to waste. It’s about innovation that respects the Earth and builds solutions that last.
